Hello and Welcome

I work with all ages, enjoying engaging with children, adolescents and adults. I have been strongly influenced by environments that support and promote diversity and as a therapist enjoy the unique aspects people bring with them to therapy.

The relationship you have with the therapist you work with is one of the most fundamental parts of you reaching your goals in therapy. I strive to create a comfortable space for you and I to work to assist you in what you are looking for, learning new ways of coping and expanding the strengths you already possess.

Therapy can at times be a daunting task. It is important to me that your experience is both a balance of comforting and challenging to support you in your process.

I began my studies at SUNY Potsdam, Crane School of Music, decided to change my path and went on to transfer to SUNY Geneseo, earning a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish.  I decided to work in the field and worked a domestic violence shelter and then as a drug counselor in a methadone clinic.   I then completed a Master's in Social Work from Syracuse University.   Prior to my time in private practice, I worked at a Community Mental Health Clinic.  While there I provided therapy, engaged in supervision, ran and assisted groups, supervised staff and interns, assisted with local program partnerships, ran a small case management department and supported the integration of mental health clinics in the local school districts.

I gravitate towards work with assisting people overcome traumatic events and those parts of our histories that impact our lives. I am rooted in therapy models that assist people in overcoming trauma as well as family systems therapy. If you are interested in learning more about the specific types of therapy I use you can go to the "Services" tab at the top of this page.

I also deeply enjoy working with relationships.   I support couples and relationships of all kinds in working through the challenges we face within relationship, and in not only moving through to the other side, but to find a more safe, satisfying and rich relationship.  For more information about my work with relationships, please refer to my other website, www.ImagoCNY.com .
