Hello and Welcome!
I began my studies at SUNY Potsdam, Crane School of Music and went on to transfer to SUNY Geneseo and earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish and I completed a Master's in Social Work from Syracuse University. I have worked in domestic violence and substance abuse treatment settings and also within a community mental health clinic.
I work with all ages, enjoying engaging with children, adolescents and adults. I have been strongly influenced by environments that support and promote diversity and as a therapist enjoy the unique aspects people bring with them to therapy. The relationship you have with the therapist you work with is one of the most fundamental parts of you reaching your goals in therapy. I strive to create a comfortable space for you and I to work to assist you in what you are looking for, learning new ways of coping and expanding the strengths you already possess. Therapy can at times be a daunting task. It is important to me that your experience is both a balance of comforting and challenging to support you in your process.
I have found that I gravitate towards work with assisting people overcome traumatic events and those parts of our histories that impact our lives. I am rooted in therapy models that assist people in overcoming trauma as well as family systems therapy. If you are interested in learning more about the specific types of therapy I use you can go to the "Services" tab at the top of this page.
